Since day one we have been a family run establishment, when Champak and Vasanti decided to take over a local boozer in Walsall on the 1st Dec 1988. With big dreams (plans) and aspirations for the place they both worked day and night 7 days a week to make The Bradford Arms a local community hub for people to meet, socialise, party, unwind and chill out.

After a fire to his garage in the early 90’s due to “that bloody paraffin heater”, Champy or John (as the locals liked to call him) decided to then build a room for his customers to enjoy BBQ food along with a crisp refreshing pint. Changing the game for a local pub along with a few others the introduction of chicken tikka, Sheesh Kebab and Tandoori Chicken to a menu we feel helped shaped the future of the so called Desi Pub and the Mixed Grill to what it is today.

The pub BBQ became a big success and bringing in people from around the midlands, who knew what he had planned but unfortunately due to his passing in the mid 90’s it all came to an end. It was time for the kids to step up. Working our way through many different chefs over the years to try and maintain a quality and standard that Champy himself would have wanted, proved to be very difficult.

2008, an introduction was made to a Nepalese Chef via two brothers of close family friends, in walks Deep a Head Chef whose talents were clearly underestimated on an employer who wouldn’t let him establish his full potential. Experimenting with dishes, menus and of course customer feedback over the years, we have tried to create a simple menu along with a few signature items.

So here we are through many ups and downs and literally blood, sweat and tears throughout the years and now in its second generation we are striving to continue Champys legacy, and proud to be bringing in customers from across the globe…

Some say we have the best grill around, others will say otherwise
But don’t just take it from us, click to hear what they have to say, or even better come and decide for yourself.
Thank you to all of you for helping us to make all this possible, after all we couldn’t have done it without you.
We hope to see you at Champy's Bradford Arms soon...
Visited here after hearing many great things. Visited 5pm on a Saturday with our 2 boys. Restaurant was busy but a few tables remaining (was none when we left). This is a no frills place, think nandos, however the food was amazing. We ordered the Champys grill with a couple of sides. We ended up taking some home! All cooked to perfection and so tasty. Great value for money as our meal for 4 was around £40 with 2 rounds of drinks. Will be back soon!

"The food is out of this world! Taste is everything it should be and more, prices are excellent, timing is excellent. My dad’s favourite food is Indian and this is also his favourite restaurant (it’s hard to please him, believe me)"
